25 Days of Gifts – Day 5 – The Comic Book

For Blogidays 2016 I will be posting the 25 Days of Gifts. These can be gifts of all shapes and sizes, all materials and non-materials, or gifts that are both given or received. (And they don’t necessarily have to be gifts from Christmas time.)

Day  – 5 – The Comic Book

I’ve always considered myself a comic book geek, who doesn’t collect comic books. I have owned a few here and there, though. One year in grade school I received this one as a gift.

How cool is this comic book? Huh? It’s super cool. Here’s how I got it.

I attended a Catholic School from 1st through 6th grades. This school had a buddy system set up, to where the older kids would choose one of the younger kids to be a big brother or big sister for. If I remember right, the fourth graders would each choose a first grader, and these kids would be their little brother/sister for the next three years. I remember my little dude fairly well. Blond hair, blue eyes, glasses, and pretty cool. We really didn’t hang out much. For the most part, we were delegated to play with them during recess on Fridays. We also hung out during the various holiday parties and such.

One year for Christmas we were all instructed to buy a small gift, under so much money, for our littles, and them for us. I can’t, for the life of me, remember what I got him. I do, however, remember him running up to me and handing me this gift to open.

“I think you’re really gonna like it!” he exclaimed. And, boy did I ever. This was by far the coolest gift I received from a school mate. I don’t have it anymore, but if I ever find it again I’m going to make sure I snatch it back up, along with the rest of the series.

Here is a nice badge for everyone to use for this years #Blogidays2016.

What’s the best gift you received from a schoolmate? What’s the best gift you gave?

I want to thank all of those who have donated to our GoFundMe so far! Now we look towards the next visit, which will be during the first week of December.

Please donate. If you cannot donate, please share. Share on Facebook. Share on Twitter. Share this blog. Share the link. There’s even a button up top you can click on.
