21 Things to do in 2016

While 2015 comes to an end I can’t help but think back and also look towards the future.

2015 has been a very good year for me. I moved into a nicer apartment, putting me into a mid-singles group where I met my now wife. I was married. I started my current job, after being recruited. I’ve had the opportunity to visit back home to Missouri several times this year, four of which have been with my sweetie…and the last time we also had her father with us.

It’s going to be hard to top 2015, but surely it’s going to happen. We’ve recently found out that our ever-growing baby will be a girl. Everybody is super excited about that, while I’m over here thinking about how many guys I’m gonna have to punch in the face. We also have several other plans in the mix (to be shared at a later time).

I stopped making “New Years Resolutions” a few years ago, because I believe it’s important to make resolutions year around, not just at the beginning. I do, however, also believe it’ll be a nice start to the year to share a list of some of the things I would like to accomplish during 2016. Keeping with the theme of “21” here we go.

  1. Eat Healthy(er)
  2. Get Around More (Exercise)
  3. Blog More
  4. Go to the DMA
  5. Visit “My” Missionaries in Utah
  6. Reconnect With Family
  7. Write More Letters
  8. Learn More About My New Family
  9. Go to Medieval Times
  10. Study My Scriptures More Steadily
  11. Start Keeping a Journal Again
  12. Experience New Foods
  13. Keep Up Better With My Fellow Bloggers
  14. Be Prepared to Send Christmas Cards Next Year
  15. Be More Creative With my Hands
  16. Have a Better Online Presence
  17. Learn to Like Kale
  18. Go Out More with the Missionaries
  19. Work Towards being Debt Free
  20. Start Building a Proper Food Supply
  21. Read More Books

So, there you have it. How does your list look?

Happy New Year!!

  1. Congratulations on the news to start off the New Year! I like your list, it looks like it would be very achievable with everything else you will have going on in your life too! 🙂

  2. I love your list, and quite a few will help you achieve others on the list. You’ve set good goals. 🙂 As to kale, I blend it up with so much delicious stuff that I don’t even taste it– or, I put it in the oven and cover it with so much salt and seasoning that I don’t even taste it. Still, I go through buckets of kale. 😀 Happy 2016!

  3. Nos. 15, 19 and 21 are a must. I don’t think it’s necessary to try to like Kale, there’s plenty of other healthy foodstuffs out there without chowing down on something you dislike.

And congratulations again to you and Mrs BroJo.

  4. Learn to like kale? Did She put that on your list for you? Haha you get too much humor mileage from complaining about it…I’m not sure you can learn like kale, but if there’s a chance, the most sure way of success is to use it in egg rolls (instead of cabbage). I bet Monica can make egg rolls. She seems pretty skilled food wise!
