Happy Fathers’ Day…The Real Post

I want to start out by wishing all the dads out there a Happy Fathers’ Day. (I believe this is the correct spelling.) I wanted to see where Fathers’ Day came from, and this is what I found. (via Wikipedia)

Father’s Day was founded in Spokane, Washington at the YMCA in 1910 by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was born in Arkansas. Its first celebration was in the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910. 

The one thing that caught my attention was the fact that it was first celebrated in a YMCA. (Alright, check out this three degrees of Fathers’ Day) Y.M.C.A. was a song recorded by the American Disco group Village People. The Village People also recorded a song entitled In The Navy. My own Father served in the Navy. Boom! (Eat your heart out Kevin Bacon)
