I had some fairly good reviews for last Tuesday’s (Valentines Day) post, so I’ve decided to try to make that a regular Tuesday “thing”. If there isn’t enough “positive” information for this given day, I will steal from Monday’s trunk of useless knowledge. I really don’t want to talk about all the wars, battles, killings, etc….if I don’t have to. So, for your reading pleasure here is what has happened on this day (or yesterday) in history! Please remember that some of the following information isn’t entirely true, but you can be the judge.

On February 20th, 1792, the Postal Service Act, establishing the United States Post Office Department, is signed by President George Washington. February 21st, 1792, is the anniversary of when the USPS lost its first letter.

On February 21st, 1842, John Greenough is granted the first U.S. patent for the sewing machine…
