My Lame Adventure

As I mentioned here 2014 will be the year of bloggers, for bloggers. Influenced by, and dedicated to Virginia at Lame Adventures, please enjoy the following.

I have followed Lame Adventures for quite some time, but I have to admit I don’t always read. The posts that I have read have been very entertaining, very non-lame if you ask me. Virginia has been Freshly Pressed thrice, two quite recently. You can read the latest two here, and here. Her first pressing came on this post. She’s even collected several of her Adventures in a book that you can purchase here. Living in Manhattan I can see how she might never run out of material for Lame Adventures. I feel the same way now, after having moved to the DFW area. All I have to do is get out there and have them.

Anyways, Back to my Lame Adventure!

My adventure started this past Friday evening, when after a long 50 plus hour work week I decided to treat myself to a movie on Saturday morning. Since I’ve moved to Texas I’ve seen many movies at a particular theater. Because of this, early on I decided to become a “Victory Member” of this theater, which is the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, Texas. Being a member allows me to collect points and to potentially get rewards. When I logged on to the website to pre-order my tickets I decided to look at all of my previous online purchases. This is what I saw.

So, I guess September and October were actually Lame.
So, I guess September and October were actually Lame. The next couple of months seem very promising too.

The Lego Movie was the first time I bought tickets online. That was when my brother and his girlfriend and family were in town to visit me. As you can see I went to see Interstellar this weekend. It was Amazing. Anyone who gets a chance to go see this, do it now. After the epic movie I had plans to go to one of my favorite Dumpling restaurants, but I had chores and shopping to do, so I headed onto Wal-Mart instead. In the parking lot I decided to snap a quick selfie, which is totally out-of-character for me, but I had some good hair going on. After living here for nearly a year I was finally able to find a good hair cut.

Don't mind the grey, that's just wisdom. Oh, and don't mind the sunglasses either. I just came from the movies and it must have been really, really dusty in there, cause I kept on gettin stuff in my eyes...

My shopping list consisted of laundry supplies, for my chores and for ingredients to make stuffing (dressing, depending on where you’re from I guess) for the company pot-luck on this coming Friday. While at Wal-Mart I always, always check out to see if any new Journal designs have come in. I collect Journals, but usually of a certain kind. If you happen to be out and come across some check to see if they have this sticker on the back…

I like this size...if you want to help a Brother out.

My collection has grown to about twenty-five now, but it’s getting very hard to find designs that I don’t already have. On this day, when I watched this most epic movie, and had this amazingly great hair day I was able to find TWO that I don’t already have. Check it out.

Very fitting for this being Movember.

In the end I was able to get my laundry done, and write a post dedicated to a good friend of mine. My weekend Lame Adventure turned out very well indeed.

Have you had any Lame Adventures lately?

    1. If you will notice, the majority of the times I got to the movies it’s either morning or early afternoon. This site also allows me to pick my seat…And to see where others are sitting. It’s great for people like us.

  1. Thank you for the shout out. That’s very generous of you. I was actually first Freshly Pressed back in the day Before Badges on my 216th post. Then there was a 196 post drought until this year. WordPress works in mysterious ways.

I saw Interstellar, too, this weekend. It was my kind of sci fi, plausible with a heart.
