Sleepy Sundays: Daydreams In Wonderland

As I mentioned here 2014 will be the year of bloggers, for bloggers. Influenced by, and dedicated to Daydreams in Wonderland at Card Castles in the Sky, please enjoy the following.

So, it turns out that Daydreams is the last of the Stories team to be featured here. I’d say I’m embarrassed for that, but I’m not. I was saving the best for last. I can’t say enough about Daydreams. She’s stepped up to help several of us at Stories, on many, many occasions. She was also the first blogger to submit a bit of a humorous post on Stories. I’m excited to be working with her and to be featuring her here today. Please enjoy…

Anyways, back to the…

 What do you Daydream about?

As a kid I daydreamed about the future, mostly while watching infomercials about some sort of whatever new fad toy was coming about. I remember thinking “I can’t wait to turn eighteen so I can buy that!” Looking back I totally understand why you have to be eighteen to order all of that crap.

In college I daydreamed about life – and sometimes the possibility of it not going on. I was a very nervous person back then. While driving to or from school I would often think about how easy life might be if I just veered my car off of the road. I drove a Lincoln Town Car, so it wouldn’t have done much damage anyways.

During my mid to late 20’s I don’t really remember what I daydreamed about. If I had to guess, it was usually about a life that I would never have.

Since I’ve moved to Texas I often find myself thinking “This is where I live now…” It’s a good thing and I can’t believe it sometimes. The area is beautiful, especially all around where I work. I took a trip yesterday to a bookstore in a city just north of mine. It was so nice. I think I may look for my next apartment there. That’s what the future daydreams will consist of. That, and the usual wife and 4.3 kids. Or something like that.

It’s interesting to see how different our outlook on life changes as we get older. How often do you think about this sort of thing?

  1. Reblogged this on CardCastlesInTheSky and commented:
I was pleasantly surprised today to find one of my blogging family members over at STMND had featured me on his lovely blog. Head on over and read his tales of daydreaming along with some kind words about yours truly. Don’t forget to click that +Follow button while you’re there if you haven’t already!

  2. I remember from when I was quite young my mother used to say to people (a lot) ‘She’s a dreamer’ – of course she was talking about me because I’d be the one sitting at the window staring at the world. I haven’t changed 😉

  3. I still daydream about being an NFL quarterback. Of being a professional disc golfer. Of singing 70s songs in front of a crowd. But mostly, I dream of coaching soccer in a big stadium someday. Or watching my girls play a match in one. Sometimes, it’s just as simple as me and Jennifer Lawrence sharing a pizza.
