Together We Are Better

As I mentioned here 2014 will be the year of bloggers, for bloggers. Influenced by, and dedicated to 1Jaded1 (From the STMND team), please enjoy the following.

Jaded is the last remaining blogger from the Stories team that I haven’t dedicated a post to this year. We became even more acquainted when Rara brought us all together. At one point in time Jaded used the Stuphblog platform to deliver her bloggy goodness. I believe now she is posting on The Matticus Kingdom. After seeing us all come together to help celebrate Rara’s Birthday it just felt right to feature her next.

Before we go on I want to explain my train of thought. Today is Labor Day, therefore it is still part of the weekend, which also makes it still part of last week. So, I didn’t miss a week. Boom.

Anyways, back to the…

I’m kind of a loner. I prefer the peace of my television, laptop and cat. But sometimes, having others around is nice. I recently joined a local Jaycees Chapter here in Texas. I’m excited to get back in there and make a difference. So far from what I’ve seen they feed the homeless at least once a month and also help out with the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary. I’ve been out of the Jaycee scene for a few months now and I’m eager to get back in there. It seems like a really great group and they’ve taken my in with open arms. They are partnered with a Missouri Chapter so that gives me extra reason to be excited. Together we can do great things.

  1. Wow. Thank you. 🙂

I share that peace from being alone. Giving back to community is so important too, though. Knowing that you had a part…made a difference in making someone’s life better…that is inspiring.

  2. Bonhoeffer said something about how if you’re afraid of being alone, you shouldn’t join community, and if you are afraid of community, you shouldn’t be alone. I can’t remember the exact quote, but felt it relevant to your post.
