Scripture of the Day – James 2: 17

On my cell phone I have a fancy new widget that offers me a Daily Scripture.* I’ve decided to share these with everyone and hopefully get me back in the habit of writing each day. I plan on providing the Scripture and whatever other information, like my insight for instance, that may be available.

James 2: 17 ~ Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Chapter 2 of James provides us that “God has chosen the poor of this world who are rich in faith – Salvation is gained by keeping the whole law – Faith without works is dead.

This Scripture tells me that Faith isn’t just a thing we have, it’s a thing we do…it’s an action. Without acting upon our Faith it is meaningless, or dead. The more we act upon our Faith the easier it is for us to hear the small still voice of the Spirit. The more we follow what the Spirit is directing us to do, the stronger our Faith will become, for it will testify to us the Truth of what we are doing, that it is indeed what our Heavenly Father wants us to do.
