What is the one thing most guys can talk about? No, not that. Baseball. (At least most of the guys I know can talk about it, and do, a lot.) The modern era of Baseball started, conveniently, around the turn of the 20th century, 1900. Today is a day that signifies perfection, when it comes to our nations pastime.
In 1904, on this day, Cy Young pitched the first perfect game, in the modern era. There were two thrown before this by Lee Richmond and John Montgomery Ward, both in 1880. (You would think that John went on to find a department store, but that isn’t the case. He’s also not a Country Western Music singer.) Before we move on I want to show what a Perfect Game is.
