The Shark Is In Session

Time To Play
Time To Play

I’ve talked a little about going out and driving for some people, my week-end was filled with this sort of activity. I don’t mind, seeing how I accomplished everything I set out to do, but there’s one thing I noticed, each night, and a time or two before. I used to play in a pool league, “back in the day”. (My kind of sport. It ranks right up there with bowling and golf for me) I quit because they met on Tuesdays, every week, and it was an obligation that lasted something like 30 weeks out of the year. Dude needs to take a break every once in a while.  I can’t claim that I was the best guy on the team, but I could usually hold my own. Back then I had it in my head that I played the best at a certain point in the night when I was in between this many drinks and that many drinks. Looking back I can tell how ridiculous this idea is, but it sure did make a lot of sense at the time. The last few times I’ve went out, with friends or family, I ended up over by the pool tables. I’m not sure, but I think I’ve become a better player somehow. The Week-end of March 17th we played out at the VFW and I couldn’t seem to lose, and the same thing happened this week-end. What is going on? (Oops, looks like a pulled the other shoulder out. Oh well, I did play that good though) I never really played for money, or anything like that before, so it’s extra weird to have a guy ask if I want to play for a drink. No thank you. I’m not to worried about winning or losing (I always try to win, don’t get me wrong. I don’t get upset if I lose is all I’m saying), so that incentive won’t do either one of us any good. Maybe that’s why I seemed to have gotten better. Have you noticed anything like this in your life? This may be a stretch, but here we go…

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. ~ 1 Corinthians 9: 25

But learn that he who doeth the works of righteousness shall receive his reward, even peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come. ~ Doctrine and Covenants 59: 23
